university of cincinnati
associate professor
I am a life-long learner who sees a real value in improvisation as tool for helping technies become better and more productive members of teams. I have been teaching IT related subject matter for over 38 years and am a faculty member in the School of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati. I have been teaching full-time at University of Cincinnati since 1999. Prior coming to UC, I taught at several area high schools and spent more than 8 years in the IT world. In 2014, I spent 6 months working at three universities in three different countries (Rwanda, Kenya, and South Africa) in Africa doing IT curriculum development and giving talks on creative problem solving. I maintain a blog about on UC’s computing history. Since Oct-2017, I have given (or will give) workshops on improv at the following conferences: ACM SIGITE, ACM SIGCSE, CodeMash, Online Learning Consortium-MERLOT, Capstone Design, International Association of Workforce Professionals, and the eLearning Africa (Sep-2018). In February 2019, I will be using his improv skills at Miras University in Kazakhstan to promote interactive learning and innovative problem solving.
